So FLVs in ads? Adobe wrong again?

Today, I spent a significant portion of it surfing the net, and I couldn’t help but notice a constant supply of ads, becoming more and more prominent on the web. At first I thought, well it could be a fluke, but after the amount I’d seen rose above 10, I knew that the place had changed. Even Google are doing a Flash Video Ad service.

Even Windows Live Messenger has been including ads like this in their content (the one above was in Live Messenger, hidden until rollover). These are generally all Flash, as far as I have seen, which defies several comments from the biggest brands, including (pessimistic) Adobe officials. So the web is evolving. Don’t miss it.

If you have a blog and wouldn’t mind a video ad, provided you want the revenue, you can go to Google Adsense and subscribe to their package. I’m going to go try that in a moment, but I think I’ll put up with boring old image ads.

At least now we know why Google bought the biggest video serv(er/ice) on the internet. Why didn’t we see that coming? Anyway, I have to admit that a fair amount of the ads I’ve seen are not via Google.
