I just bought a book called How to Cheat in Photoshop CS3 and it is bloody amazing. Great quality, good humor written throughout and in full color which I think is so important for a book about Photoshop!

It is a really good read and I think one of the best Photoshop books out there for creating photorealistic effects.
Enjoy

I figured, as I have spare time today, that I’d start documenting the outcome of visiting the Adobe onAIR tour 2008. It was a pretty big event, in terms of the broad range of sessions, so it looks like I’m going to have to cover it in a few posts, rather than one very long one. I may not document it all, as a couple of them were talking pretty fast, and I’ll try to find as many resources from there as possible.

My name is Simon Shand and I’m going to be writing here from now on along with Lawrence.
So to get started I’ve got a pretty cool thing to talk about, and I’ve already talked about on my other blog and that news is that Adobe has released Adobe TV!

This is a really quite cool site, I think it was built in Flex, but I could be wrong..
I love the site though more for its contents that the design, it has tonnes of programs about most of the Adobe products. It’s …

By this point, you’re probably realizing that there aren’t any posts in here… that’s because I’ve only just set it up. Anyway. Please subscribe to the feed, and you’ll be enjoying articles from Simon Shand and myself (Lawrence Job), about Apple, Microsoft, Adobe (including Flash), Design, Development, Gadgets, and, well, I expect you’ve run out of breath by this point, that assuming you’re so excited at the prospect, you have to read this out loud! Yeah, right.
Anyway, subscribe to the feed, or even register your interest. If you’re interested in posting, also …

Adobe, Microsoft »

And another of the many innovations I have (and have yet to) stumble across is the new declarative (more on that later) language from Microsoft. This is what appears to be a direct aim at combating Adobe’s hopes with AIR, and Flex both in one. The similarities become even more obvious when you see more in depth details on the way the script is coded.
For those who don’t know, Adobe AIR stands for Adobe Integrated Runtime, which is a way for existing designers or developers devigners (thanks Lee) that work …
