I would first like to start off by insulting BT, but I won’t despite the poor connection and general service, as in the end, they’re alright to most other customers I know. Then I want to introduce Sky Broadband. These guys are great. Built from the (as you can see below) Easynet infrastructure, they provide tonnes of bandwidth, on an incredibly fast connection.

7148kb/s is pretty impressive considering I am 50 miles from the exchange on a 8Mb/s connection. Technically speaking, they’re doing the impossible! I realised you probably wouldn’t enjoy …

First and foremost, I’d like to point out that I’m not a Mac user, and haven’t been for a long time. I won’t be for a long time, thanks to Apple’s ‘generous’ UK pricing scheme. So here comes a short post (kept short mainly for hunger-oriented reasons), just to collect your opinions on what I should get my new desk made from.
Essentially it’s going to be about the width of the shortest wall (the photo below shows the current desk extending about half the way down the wall, with one …

You may remember, if you’re one of my more hard-core readers, back in the old blog, I used to make a few posts about the past present and future of the iPlayer. Well it turns out that it’s still growing rapidly into one of the main parts of the BBC. While competitors made an effort to launch their online services, like ITV’s Catch-up service (which nobody uses, due to the strict requirements) or the boom of 4’s 4od (now a part of Virgin Media or online), the BBC is still …
